Why this site exists
Most EDDM pages online are written by printers and mail companies, and they're written to sell printing. That's fair enough, but it means the basic rules are often buried, out of date or skipped. We wanted one place that just explains how EDDM works, with the actual rules and numbers, and nothing to buy.
How we check our facts
- Every rule and price comes from USPS. We use usps.com, the Domestic Mail Manual, the USPS price list (Notice 123) and USPS's own EDDM forms and guides.
- Each page lists its sources at the bottom, with links to the USPS pages we used.
- Each page shows the date it was last checked against those sources.
- We recheck after USPS price and rule changes, and update the pages and dates.
- When something can't be confirmed, we say so or tell you to ask your Post Office, rather than guess.
USPS rules can change and Post Offices sometimes handle things differently, so always confirm anything important with your Post Office before you print.
